Do you think he has a reversing camera or he’s able to guess how close he is using the mirrors?

It’s actually a little easier backing a trailer than you think it is. You can sight right down those trailer sides like a gun sight.
This is where Tesla and their idiotic central driving position lost the plot. Did they talk to truck drivers first? Being able to open a window and look down the side is a really big deal.

Most American CMV are 80ft. 53ft trailers. Maybe it’s because I drive them but nothing about this is impressive or interesting. There are some nightmarish customer docks I’ve delivered to way worse than this basic back.

Long trailers go exactly where you want. Short trailers, go wherever the hell they feel like.

I did a basic trailer course and with practice got half decent, and later became a driver instructor and have realized that without practice, trailer backing is hard.
Visited my wife’s uncle on their farm one day, and he rolls up in with a double b trailer full of grain, does a 90 degree turn, and a straight back straight into the quonset rather precisely. Admittedly, not the most impressive move, but straight backing can be surprisingly challenging.
Old guy gets out and as he walks up I just say “I know you don’t need to hear this because you’ve probably been doing it all your life, but that was a really nice backing you just did there.”
